Students observe and practice applications of concepts learned in a real-world setting. In addition to construction of a new parking deck and a new, state-of-the-art Wellness and Events Center, the Central King Building has been transformed into a modern STEM teaching and learning hub, and renovations continue in Tiernan Hall, Faculty Memorial Hall and the Mechanical Engineering Center to ensure that NJIT students have the appropriate space and technology to be successful. Colton, the cornerstone was laid at the intersection of High Street and Summit Place for the three-story building later to be named Weston Hall in honor of the institution’s early benefactor. During the lean years of the Depression and World War II, only the former Newark Orphan Asylum, now Eberhardt Hall, was purchased and renovated by the college. PCI does offer the option to purchase the Highlander History book that will be produced at the end of the project, along with other NJIT branded merchandise, such as a travel bag and a tee shirt. Over the course of the next few months, we will use these stories in two ways: 1) a professionally-designed book, including photos and excerpts, which will be available for sale individually or with a package of NJIT gear; and 2) class notes, which will be shared in the NJIT Magazine, class reunion yearbooks, and on alumni social media.
