Don't get me wrong, it's still a slasher flick, but it's more coherent and self aware than the previous the entries, who are somewhat guilty of sleepwalking on the coat tails of the original duo. The new timeline after the original Halloween and 2 which takes place 20 years later where Michael finds a way back into Laurie's life, who has gone into hiding and is a headmistress at a school where her teenage son goes too. Unfortunately, the contemporary horror movie has ceased being an individual work full of surprises and fresh manifestations of the Gothic imagination - it has, instead, been reduced to the level of an inflexible, repetitious, ritualistic event. There are several chases, threatening with guns and knives in many scenes, and several "jump" scenes. I give it ***1/2 out of ****. I actually don't really have any problems with H20, the film is a superb sequel to Halloween, the film is actually better then Halloween 2 and has a awesome story after I did feel like Halloween 4-6's story of Laurie being the mom of Jamie and all that was a bit forced and felt a bit insane considering she was only like 25 if she did have her. Ah, the mid-to-late 1990's... sort-of a rebirth of horror in a way. A man is hit by a car and a woman crashes into a car (we see her bloody face and mouth); also a man is hit by a car that breaks his back. He creates a perfectly creepy atmosphere, allows Michael Myers to move like a person instead of a robot, and throws everything but the kitchen sink at us in a white knuckle ending. It scares me every single times and always makes my heart race! H20, despite it's stupid but funny title, is the best sequel of the Halloween franchise. Now i love Halloween '78 of course it's a classic & a John Carpenter favourite but my personal favourite "Michael Myers" film is the 1998 "H20" i just loved the setting & atmosphere & the characters/cast all were good choices & good fun such as the romantic nice guy security guard played by LL Cool J he's great fun. A man and a woman are stabbed repeatedly and a woman is cut on the arm (with blood). DISCUSSION TOPICS - Murder, revenge, obsession, mental illness, evil. Finally, a film just as good as Halloween 4 at least. There are some really good scare tactics in this film and most of the time you're on the edge of your seat and biting your nails! "Halloween H20" is the most accomplished sequel of the "Halloween" series, and a film that would deserve a "10" for its potency, conviction, and intelligence if it weren't for a few non-Laurie scenes earlier in the film that feel less than what other films achieved at the time. While plot mechanics aren't wildly imaginative, pic nonetheless delivers requisite jolts in an above-average package. We have some new great actors like Josh Hartnett, Michelle Williams and even LLCoolJ was fun to have around, they were all great additions to our Halloween story. !, a lot of people say the ending of this movie should have been the ending to the entire Halloween series! This is the first film I actually found suspenseful. I Saw This At The Theater Back In The Day.

Language Josh Hartnett is great in this film as Laurie's fed up troubled son John. United States After a little slump with Halloween 5, I think a lot of Halloween fans were worried that the Halloween franchise was going to be like the typical Friday the 13th series, that as the sequels went on the stories would just get worse and worse. This scene was absolutely AMAZING and BRILLIANT!!!!!!
(Trancas International Films). Audiences were tiring of the holdover 80's slasher flicks and ho-hum ghost stories, with really only a handful of stand-out creep-shows to keep horror fans satiated. A woman smokes a cigarette. Why is Halloween: H20 rated R? Other than that, this is as good as any movie. This is easily the best modern film of the franchise. Fans of the series have been let down with disappointing sequels soiling the reputation of the classic original, so it wasn't all bad when the producers of H20 made a controversial decision to ignore films 3-6 in the series. Fun movie that is kinda similar to Halloween 2018 but it's still a fun movie to watch, there are also some actual good emotional scenes that don't come off as stupid or ridiculous. That's just a personal pet peeve with pretty much any horror movie. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't a good idea to ignore the events in 4-6. Now Halloween H2O obviously released in 1998, around the same time movies like Scream and Scream 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer, in the late 1990s horror movies kinda had their own trend, the whole "Hip and Scary" Era.
