Only started about 6months ago & we're rural. It's great for ordering large items that I could never get home on my own, Like 24-30 rolls of toilet paper, kitty litter, dog food, laundry baskets etc.
The delivery cost is probably based on demand, so normally less in-demand delivery times (e.g. I'm just wondering what other people in other areas pay for their coles or woolworths delivery fee?
I live in Canberra. As well as the delivery charge, I have read in a few places that the prices on the web site are higher prices than actually charged in the supermarket for the same items at the same time (except for catalogue specials which are the same), does anyone know if this is true? I was told by someone today who heard from another source that it is free. When I first started online ordering the first order was free delivery. I've also seen they had a Wednesday free delivery day in some states. Only woolies deliver here. I've always had $9 for 3 hours however we are bordeling rurual.

Wow - the delivery fee for Coles online 3 hour window has always been $9 for me (since I started using in 2008). Coles has always been $9 and $13 here (NE suburbs in Adelaide). Not going to then spend my weekend organising groceries along with other shopping and errands. I've only used woolworths and its $13 for the three hour window. It's just my regular shop - I just didn't want to go instore and deal with all of the hoarders lol. At the 'review order' page it says that it charged me for $11 for delivery and then oddly 'LESS $11 Fee discount'.

I believe Woolworths delivery is free for your first 3 orders then the fee is a sliding scale depending how much you spend. For pick-ups, you would have a defined time window to collect your items.

This doesn't seem right because it's too good to be true. Maybe they are doing an experiment here (inner Melbourne). Can someone validate this. I've done online shopping maybe a handful of times. I have found that if they stuff your order up a lot, like miss a whole shopping bag of meat... they refunded the items and placed free delivery on my next order to make up for it.
I had to laugh at that though because they're shut on Sun here so you can only have it delivered Sat in this case. Where I am there doesn't seem to be any specific free delivery days just the occasional promotion and the first 3 order free delivery. I thought only Woolies had the $5 delivery. I think you can look up the delivery rates if you go to reserve a delivery time / day etc. I did notice time slots were very limited. Car with no brake lights, who would be at fault.

I received the first three deliveries free. So when you arrive it's ready. I use Coles online shopping for the simple reason I have no transport options except buses and taxis. Maybe the increases are on how many people use the service and then how much they need to cover it etc (and how far they drive from the warehouse)? Can someone validate this.
