Psychology Courses in the Distribution Requirement as of Fall 2019. The undergraduate program in Psychology offers a variety of pathways of study that reflect the diversity of interests our students have in psychology and related areas. All courses must be taken for a letter grade, with the exception of Freshman Seminars, PSY 985, and PSY 991, which are graded SAT/UNSAT. All students graduating with the Class of May 2020 and beyond must now adhere to the new requirements, whereas students graduating before this must still adhere to the old ones. Psychology concentrators have a lot of flexibility in selecting both their concentration track and their concentration courses. For example, If you are still under the Gen Ed requirements prior to Fall 2019 and have a course that is that is not currently counting towards Gen Ed on your Advising Report, you can petition Gen Ed to try and have it count. An application and thesis are required. A half-course is a course that takes one semester to complete (rather than a full year), and is typically worth 4 credits. That means that a course counting towards your General Education requirements cannot also be used to count as a divisional course.
